Fascia repair and new seamless gutters

Sectional gutters had pulled away from rotted fascia on the north side of a two-story home. The scope replaced the damaged fascia, then hung new seamless gutters with downspouts moved away from the foundation.

Where it started

Water was overflowing at a gutter seam and running down the siding. The fascia behind it was soft for several feet, and a downspout discharged directly against the foundation.

Scope of work

Removed sectional gutters and 22 feet of rotted fascia on the north eave
Installed new primed fascia and sealed all cuts and joints
Formed and hung seamless aluminum gutters on hidden hangers
Relocated one downspout and added extensions at each outlet

What was considered, and why the work was done this way.

Cause first: The fascia was repaired and painted before the gutters were hung so the new gutters were fastened to sound wood.
Downspout placement: One outlet was moved so it no longer discharged next to the foundation.
